“There’s power in your declaration, so speak what you want to see. Don’t speak what you see “- Isabelle Pennaneach
Spiritual warfare is real. However, as Christians, we must always remember that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Great Victor, and greater is His power within us than anything the devil may try to punch us with (1 John 4:4).
It’s critical to know how to punch the devil back when he harasses you.
The oddest thing happened to me recently. On September 18, 2024 I wrote a blog called “Make The Body Of Christ Healthy Again.” In this post I shared about my victory in overcoming disabilities from Spinal Stenosis and Fibromyalgia. A few weeks after posting this blog, my health began to decline day by day. I don’t believe in coincidences and hence, couldn’t help but wonder if the posting of my blog was connected to the attack on my health. How did I suddenly get so disabled again? Could it be that someone put a curse on me? Or did the devil decide to go after my health? It doesn’t matter what the answer is. What matters is how do we punch the enemy back when he attacks us?
There are many different things we can do to counter attack the fiery darts that Satan thrusts at us. I have written about some of the things we can do to resist the devil. You can read my blog posts “How To Cast Out Demons With Confidence, “How To Demon Proof And Spiritually Protect Your House“, “Is An Ungodly Soul Tie Keeping You Stuck?,” and “The Fight For Freedom When 7 More Demons Come Back.”
I’m learning that one of the most effective ways to punch the devil in the face is to use God’s promises and words that give life!
In this season of battle that I find myself in, dealing with a Hip Labrum Tear, Spinal Stenosis, Frozen Shoulder and Arthritis pain, I’m learning that one of the most effective ways to punch the devil in his face is the words we speak out loud. This means speaking positive, life giving words, as well as declaring God’s Word over ourselves (or whomever you are contending for). The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.“
I love what Isabelle Pennaneach says: “Don’t think a thought or a word that you know is not in the mind of Christ. Speak life. Speak what you want to see. There’s power in your declaration.” For example, I had to learn to stop saying “I am in so much pain,” and instead say, “thank You Lord Jesus for my whole and complete healing.” This isn’t always easy, but it’s important to not give the enemy access to our weaknesses. The devil hears your spoken words.
Find Bible Verses that speak into your situation and personalize them. Then declare them out loud!
Here are some verses I have been using to speak healing over my body.
1. “But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity” ~Luke 13:12 (NKJV). I have been declaring this verse over myself in this way-“I know Lord Jesus that you are saying to me, “Tweeny, you are loosed from your infirmity!”
2. “Yahweh, you alone are my praise. Heal me, and I will be perfectly healed; save me, and I will be completely saved” ~Jeremiah 17:14 (TPT). I decree this promise of God like this: “Lord, just say the word, “Tweeny you are healed,” and I will be perfectly healed.” Then I add “I know You love me Father God, and I know You want me well.”
3. “And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”~Mark 5:34. I tell God (out loud), “I believe in your healing power Jesus. Thank You for ending my suffering.”
There are many many promises of God on healing. If you are suffering from sickness and disease at this time, I encourage you to find some Scriptures to declare out loud over your life. You can also listen to healing scriptures. I have been listening to this one as I fall asleep. I find this Youtube very soothing, and it has encouraged my faith in this season.
Be patient and do not give up. At just the right time you will reap a harvest of blessing if you don’t give up.
I know this is often hard for many believers to grasp, because not everyone gets healed this side of heaven. My perspective on this is, keep declaring and believing in God’s promises to rescue you. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Remind yourself that Satan is a defeated foe. What Satan means for harm, God will use for good. When you are going through suffering it can feel like an attack from the enemy. However, sometimes the Lord uses trials to get our attention. It’s part of His sanctification process for us. For example, in my situation, the ailments I was facing caused me to slow down and reflect on my sins. There were some hidden sins in my life that I was completely unaware of. I honestly don’t think I would have realized these sins if I wasn’t facing such adversity. God is a good loving God, and because He loves His children, He will discipline us. Hebrews 12:7 tells us, “As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?“
When facing a trial, I always recommend starting with repentance and confession of sin. Spend time in listening prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to highlight any unconfessed sin in your life. After this, start speaking declarations out loud-speaking life and God’s promises over your self. Do this by faith, even if you are feeling doubtful. The Holy Spirit will help you to believe.
You must have full confidence of God’s deep love for you.
Whatever you are facing right now, use the power of imagination and your spoken words to believe that the Lord wants victory for you. Speak and declare out loud what that is. Speak encouraging things out loud. Statements like “My God is mighty to save and I know He will save me,” or “Faithful He has been. Faithful He will be,” or “I shall be healed!” Find Bible verses and positive phrases that you can repeat over and over again to punch the devil in the face. Most importantly, be patient, do not give up and always remember, you have the Lord Almighty on your side.
“We’ve been overwhelmed with grief; come now and overwhelm us with gladness. Replace our years of trouble with decades of delight.” Psalm 90:15 (TPT)

Fight, Fight, Fight and never give up! Thank you for the reminder of how to fight when we are battle weary! Thank you for so courageously sharing your personal experiences with us Tweeny. We must profess our faith and speak life in all situations. God inhabits the praises of his people!

So sorry to hear about your illness. Praying for your complete healing in Jesus name. I believe another way to punch the devil in the neck is to worship God through every obstacle, disappointment, sickness, illness, job loss and heartaches to name a few. This is an act of faith that will reap great results.

This is a great word for the Body of Christ! I love the visual of punching the devil in the face. Enough is enough! 💪 We need to stand in our authority.
