The promise in Isaiah 43:16 is a reminder for us this Christmas season: “I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea.”
God parted the Red Sea for His people as an escape from their enemies. He is the same God of yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He, therefore, can do the same for us and show us a way when we feel all hope is gone.
What battle are you facing this Christmas? What burdens are weighing on your heart? Give it to the Almighty One, and allow Him to refresh your soul. He will part your personal Red Sea in His perfect way and perfect timing.
In verses 19 and 20 of Isaiah 43, God says, “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and owls, too, for giving them water in the desert. Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.”
This Christmas, won’t you take Jesus’ hand and allow Him to make a pathway through your wilderness?
Will you decide today to take one baby step of faith to allow the Lord to refresh your soul? It could be as simple as being still and resting in Him, refusing negative thoughts (fear, worry, anxiety), or it could be an action step (towards forgiveness, reconciliation, making an amends to someone, giving up a bad habit, etc). Ask Jesus to show you what baby step of faith He wants from you. And then leave it with Him believing in His power to act on your behalf.
Your battle belongs to the Lord.
The word “Emmanuel” means God with us. Christmas reminds us that Jesus came to earth to be with us in our pain and our suffering. God is with you and He will never leave you. So give Him all your worries this Christmas.
As we celebrate Emmanuel, may we be found faithful, joyful and triumphant, as we wait on Him.
Merry Christmas to you and yours! 🕊💚🕊
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child!
She will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel,
which means ‘God is with us.’” ~ Matthew 1:23
