“Let God’s promises shine on your problems.” ~ Corrie Ten Boom
There are times in life that are more challenging than others.
In those seasons, you can feel overwhelmed, weighed down and exhausted. And although you may talk to a friend, go shopping, eat a big piece of chocolate cake (or all of the above), these give you only momentary relief.
The truth is, nothing can comfort like the Word of God (tweet this).
And as a follower of Christ, it’s important to center your heart on His promises and not on your circumstances.
Here are 13 Bible verses to give you hope during tough times
1.) Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
2.) Hebrews 13:5 (ESV)
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
3.) Romans 4:17 (NLT)

To the faithful You show yourself faithful;
to those with integrity You show integrity.
5.) Romans 8:28 (ESV)
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.
6.) Psalm 34:8 (ESV)

Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
7.) Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
8.) 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NLT)
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love Him.”
9.) 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
10.) Philippians 4:19 (NLT)

11.) Psalm 23:6 (NLT)
Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever.
12.) James 1:12 (ESV)
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him.
13.) Revelation 7:17 (ESV)
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of living water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Rachel says
One of my favorite verses is Philippians 4:8…”Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Rachel,
I almost added Philippians 4:8 on my list. It’s definitely one of my favorites too. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

There are too many favorites to pick out. For me, one ‘life verse’ is found in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “We are demolishing arguments and ideas, every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One.”
