Its easy to feel God’s presence during your quiet time, but how do you sense His presence throughout the entire day?
God doesn’t ever leave us. He is always with us, in our hearts. He is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere at the same time.
It is us that need to be aware of His presence.
We need to acknowledge His presence all day long.
There are 3 ways to sense God’s presence throughout your day.
1. Constant communication with God
It is by talking to God continuously throughout the day that we sense His presence.
I honestly talk to God all day long. Every single thing I do I bring Him into it.
Even when I am deciding what to wear for the day, I ask Him “Lord, what should I wear today?”
Crazy? Not really.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says “Never stop praying.”
I can remember hearing this verse when I was a baby Christian, and thinking “how in the world am I suppose to never stop praying?!”
I learned that constant prayer does not mean you have to get on your knees, close your eyes and bow your head. Praying without ceasing just means talking with God in your heart all day long.
He is my constant companion, my very best friend.
This is what it means to “Never stop praying.”
This is one way way we sense God’s presence all day long; we invite Him into our world, every part of it.
2. We have to want God. We have to seek Him. And we have to believe that He is there.
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”~ Matthew 7:7.
I LOVE this verse. I feel it is one of the most powerful verses in the Bible.
If we just did these three things, ASK, SEEK, and BE PERSISTENT with God, we would have a more intimate relationship with Him.
If you seriously want to feel God’s presence more consistently then tell Him that. And then believe that He will show you how.
Seek God relentlessly.
Keep on asking.
Keep on seeking.
Don’t give up.
You will receive what you are asking for.
Why? Because it’s what He wants too.
The scriptures clearly say that if we ask for those things that are in line with His will we will receive them. 1 John 5:14-15 says “And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.”
3. Journaling what God said to you that day and reminding yourself of it all day long
I cannot emphasize the importance of journaling.
Journaling has taken my relationship with Jesus to a deeper level. Often I am not even “feeling” any connection with God, but once I start journaling I do.
I journal the scripture verse that touched my heart that morning, during my quiet time with Him. I then write what I sense that God is telling me. (see my blog post “How to Spend Time with God)
Throughout my day I remind myself of the verse and the message that the Lord impressed on my heart that day. Going over it in my mind and heart helps me to feel His presence all day long.
If you apply these three things to your life, you will sense God’s presence with you all day long. Just keep in mind that the key word is “sense.”
God is spiritual and, therefore, your relationship with Him is spiritual. This means you will have to walk by faith and trust that He is there.
God is with you every moment of your life. He never leaves you (Hebrews 13:5).
He adores you and created you for a relationship with Him. He cares about every detail of your life.
Believe this by faith.
May you sense the Lord close to your heart.
May YOU always remember to bring Him into your moment by moment life. He is with you every second of the day.
Be conscious of His presence.
If you struggle with sensing that God is near you all day, what do you think it is that stops you from sensing His presence throughout your day? How do you sense God’s presence?
“Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I wasn’t even aware of it!”
~ Genesis 28:16

Beautiful! well said. He is our Constant Companion. The gift is in the knowing and sensing as you said. What comfort and peace is available to us as we walk in His Presence.

Excellent thoughts. Thank you for sharing. All of this requires a decision that you want to put the effort into this important relationship and then have the discipline to do these things. And I know you do!

Thanks my sweet husband for commenting on my post. Yes, you are absolutely right, it starts with a DECISION and then takes DISCIPLINE. Maybe I should go add that in the post?
I love you~

This is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it. I will bless the Lord at all times his praises shall continue in my mouth.
Good Morning Tweeny,
I must say that last night (first time in long time being alone) I was able to commune with God and I felt his presence in such a strong way that I hadn’t felt in years. I use to feel his presence daily, but something changed. I wondered what it was that was so different. I examined myself and asked God to show me my sins and allow me not to be blind or ignorant in growing in his will because I want to always feel his presence.
Wow and this morning I open up your blog to find the answers. God never ceases to amaze me! I haven’t been communicating with him throughout the day. Too many distractions… I repented again and thanking God for again another chance to seek him first… and pray without ceasing.
I’m also thanking God for using you for all.
Much Love,
Casey.

Casey,
I LOVE when the Lord confirms our thoughts for us. I am grateful that this blog post was a part of that process for you.
God’s grace is so beautiful. I love that you said that you repented and asked Him for another chance. I think that blesses His heart so much. It’s all that He wants from us-a surrendered heart and you have that Casey.
Thanks for sharing.
Love to you too~

This morning I was praying that my grandson who just went away to college would be very aware of God’s presence. Your quote from Jacob is what came to my mind too. Your post is a wonderful confirmation that we all need to realize God is with us at all times. Thank you for sharing this great reminder.

Dear Arlene,
I love How God does that. I call those “kisses from the King.” I am grateful that my blog post could be a part of the confirmation from Him for you. He is so good!!!
Thank you for commenting.
Blessings~

I loved this post Tweeny. Thanks for the reminder that God wants to be involved in every detail of our life. Thanks for reminding me to talk to him. When I haven’t checked in with him for along time I don’t sense his presence. Every day I feel like I get a little emptier because I am not talking with him. I talk about him, but it is not the same. I feel like life has gotten louder and more fast paced and I have stopped making him the first thing I seek each day. I miss seeing the fruit in my own walk. I need to get back in touch with God. Your post is a blessing. Thanks! Love you.

Julie,
Thank you so much for sharing so openly here. It’s true that life has become louder and more fast paced. We have so many more distractions today than ever before. This just means we have to be even more aware of our connection with God.
You are a blessing to me.
Love you~

My dear sweet sister,
Your Blog has once again come at such a timely moment. I needed to hear this exact message – for even though I have practiced much of what you posted, I had in recent times become more complacent / habitual around my prayers and not as “forceful” about reaching out to God throughout the day. Thanks again for sharing and as always, getting right to the key point/message !
Love you
Big Bro Pinch

My dear brother Pinch,
I am so blessed that the Lord would use my blog to encourage you. This is my biggest desire. I know what you mean about becoming complacent in our walks with Christ. It is SO easy to do. We have to constantly nurture our relationship with Him.
Thanks for your support Pinch. I am so grateful for you.
I love you~
